Kevin Dayton, Owner, Dayton Public Policy Institute

Kevin Dayton provides high-quality research, strategy, analysis, monitoring, execution, follow-up, compilation, and historical reviews of public policy issues. He has 25 years of professional experience in public policy and politics at the federal, state, and local levels of government. He established his private consulting firm in 2012.

After graduating from Yale University in 1992 with a B.A. in History, Dayton spent a few years in legislative branch public service analyzing federal public policies as an aide to U.S. Representative Gary A. Franks (R-Connecticut) in Washington, D.C. He then held various government affairs management positions for more than 17 years with Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) at the federal level and then at the state and local levels in California.

While Dayton has a broad mastery of numerous policy issues (and is always trying to expand that mastery), his specialties are labor issues (particularly for the construction industry), public contracts, municipal bond finance, environmental issues, tax and budget issues, and infrastructure.
